Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The grapes for this vintage of our all new Silver Series 2009 Chardonnay were harvested from the Heron Pond and Delaine Vineyards on November 2nd and 3rd, 2009 at 22.5° Brix.
Production Notes
Our NEW Jackson Triggs Silver Series sets the benchmark of excellence with renowned wines of extraordinary character. We craft small lots of this series from select grapes in special vineyards, to craft wines that promise exceptional quality, varietal character, and great value in the $15-20 price point. The grapes were soft pressed after having had skin-juice contact for three hours. The juice was then cold fermented with selected yeasts, and transferred to French oak barrels. The wine underwent 100% full malolactic fermentation followed by 8 months of barrel aging on the lees in one year old barrels.
Winemaker Notes
Luminous gold in colour, this elegant wine is beautifully structured and displays alluring aromas of butterscotch, cashew nut, ripe tropical fruit and toasted oak. Accentuated by a rich and creamy butter finish, the vibrant flavours of citrus, apple and pear perfectly integrate with clean refreshing acidity.
Food Pairing Notes
This vintage pairs perfectly with stone crab, ginger baked salmon, grilled scallops or shrimp, mushroom risotto, veal chops, or pork tenderloin. Pastas in rich cream sauces and aged cheeses are also great matches
